Howdy! Oopsy, I mean bonjour! My name is Lila Mae, and I like to think of myself as a Texas girl with just a hint of French sophistication. I am a one year six month old pug and Frenchie mix with a big personality, a strong physique, and a talent for hopping onto the couch like I am making a grand entrance. I enjoy the simple pleasures in life, like a good chew bone, a soft place to nap, and being as close as possible to my people.
I get along wonderfully with other dogs and love making new friends. I live with a young pug right now, and we spend our days zooming, wrestling, cuddling, and then snoozing like we worked a full shift. I have not met cats or small humans here, but I am a gentle girl, so I may be a good fit with either in the right home. I am still learning my potty manners, but I have made great progress. I am crate trained and sleep peacefully through the night. When my foster mama says bedtime, I trot right into my crate like the polite little lady I am trying to be.
During the day, I like to follow my people around to make sure everything is running smoothly. I also enjoy curling up nearby while my foster mama works, ready to offer moral support or a quick cuddle. Walks are exciting for me, and although I pull a bit when I get enthusiastic, I am learning quickly. I am a smart girl who responds well to treats and praise. I learned sit and wait in just a couple of days.
