Hi there, I’m Costello, your future snuggle buddy, leg rubber, and professional woo woo announcer. I’ve got a sweet, expressive puppy dog look that wins people over instantly, the kind that makes you smile even before I do anything. I love curling up next to you and rubbing against your legs like a cat. Most of the day I’m a quiet, easygoing guy, but when it’s meal time, I make the cutest woo woo sounds.

I’m also a playful dude with a big heart. Yak cheese is my absolute favorite, and I never turn down a good wrestling match or the chance to give kisses to my pug friends. I’ve recently discovered toys, and let me tell you, I’m making up for lost time. I’m gentle, affectionate, and full of personality, with a little bit of that lovable, goofy charm my namesake was known for.

Now, a quick note about my past: when I first came to Pug Rescue of Austin, I was a very round boy with some hidden health issues. After losing some weight, the vets discovered a large tumor on my spleen. I had surgery to remove it, and the tumor alone was three and a half pounds. Pretty wild. The best part is that I recovered quickly and feel so much better now. You wouldn’t even recognize the old me — seriously, check out my before and after photos.

So here I am, healthier, happier, snuggly, playful, and ready for my forever home. If you’re looking for a sweet companion with a big personality and an even bigger heart, I think we might be a perfect match.
