Save Pugs. Meet cool People.
Our organization would not exist without the help of our dedicated volunteers.
There are no paid employees or staff at Pug Rescue of Austin.
We have many rewarding opportunities to get involved and make a huge difference in the lives of these loving animals. Please contact us if you’re interested in learning more or applying to become a volunteer. We would love to hear from you!

Featured Opportunity: Auction Support
Featured Opportunity: Auction Support
Our auctions are vital in helping us raise funds to support our beloved pugs in need. This Spring, our goal is to fetch at least $8,000, and we need your help to make it happen.
Donation Outreach: Help us sniff out businesses willing to donate items for our auction. Reach out to them using our handy email templates and ensure their donations find their way to us. We're especially interested in expanding our reach beyond Austin to include San Antonio, Cedar Park, Leander, and Round Rock.
Organizing & Promotion: Assist in organizing donations, snapping cute photos of items, and crafting witty descriptions for our website and social media. Join our marketing team in creating fun content to highlight our donors and the great items we have available for bidding!
Event Assistance: Join us at our Spring events to ensure smooth sailing for our auction winners.
Our Auction will be kicking off in April, but the team is ready to start collecting donations now!
Foster & Transport
WE ARE ALWAYS IN NEED OF LOVING FOSTERS!
These volunteers are usually the first ones to be notified when new pugs are arriving into rescue. As a Transport Volunteer you will be notified when we need a pug transported from one location to another. (From a shelter to our Vet Clinic as an example).
A Foster Volunteer plays a very important role and brings a pug into their own home and provides a warm and loving environment until the pug is adopted and finds his or her forever home. You will be required to complete a foster application in order to be considered for this volunteer placement.
Applicant Screeners
Applicant Screeners help by contacting applicants who have submitted an adoption or foster application.
You will go through the application over the phone and also contact their references.
A rewarding opportunity to play an important role in getting a pug matched up with the perfect forever home!
Meet & Greet and Adoption Days
A fun opportunity to spend time with our foster pugs and meet and greet interested applicants.
You will answer questions and provide info on the pugs.
Fundraising
If you’re outgoing and are up for a challenge this is a great opportunity for you! Also a great way to meet people and make new friends.
Some of our fundraising projects include: Pug Rescue of Austin Calendar Ad Sales, Holiday Gift wrapping at Barnes and Noble and auctions.
