In this volunteer role, you’ll:
✔️ Contact adoption and foster applicants
✔️ Review their applications over the phone
✔️ Reach out to personal references and veterinary offices for vet checks

Treasurer
Pug Rescue of Austin Needs a Treasurer!
Are you passionate about pugs and have a knack for numbers? Join our team as PRA’s Treasurer! This vital volunteer role helps keep our rescue running smoothly, and the best part—you won’t have to handle annual 990 filings (a CPA firm takes care of that!). Plus, our fantastic bookkeeper assists with recording donation checks.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Closing out monthly finances
Paying medical bills as needed using PRA funds
Providing financial reports to the board
Overseeing other finance-related tasks
QuickBooks experience is required.
Newsletter Writer
Join Our Pack: Volunteer as Our Newsletter Writer!
Do you love pugs and have a way with words? 🐾 Pug Rescue of Austin is looking for a passionate volunteer to craft our bi-monthly newsletter! Help us share heartwarming rescue stories, upcoming events, and ways to support our mission. Your words will make a difference in the lives of pugs in need!
Hours Required: 3-5 hours per month
Experience: Prior experience with newsletter sendout is preferred (any software)
Annual Pug Calendar Shoot
Pug Rescue of Austin’s much-anticipated Annual Calendar Shoot is happening this August, and we’re looking for 2-3 volunteers to help make it a success!
Volunteer roles include:
Assisting with costumes and set design
Helping secure sponsors for the calendar
Ordering food for the shoot days
Lending a hand on the big shoot day (date TBD in August)
This is a fun and creative way to support rescue pugs while contributing to one of PRA’s most beloved events. Join us and be part of the magic!

We’re looking for 2-3 creative volunteers to help share the stories that make Pug Rescue of Austin so special! If you love writing, storytelling, and social media, consider joining one of these volunteer roles:
Volunteer Spotlight Manager: Feature dedicated PRA volunteers or spotlight an adoptable pug each week to engage our community and help find loving homes.
Storytelling – Volunteer Focus: Share the inspiring stories of our amazing volunteers and the impact they have on rescue pugs.
Storytelling – Dog Focus: Tell the heartfelt journeys of our rescue pugs, from intake to adoption, helping to raise awareness and support.
