Pugress Reports
We always love sharing our happy tales (and our happy tails!), but there’s something truly special about catching up with our alumni adopted years ago—seeing how they’ve grown, aged, and created lifelong bonds. It warms our hearts to hear how our pugs have continued to thrive long after adoption. Here's a look at some of our beloved alumni that were adopted five or more years ago and the lives they've helped complete.

Opal
“We adopted Opal (then BlueBell) from PRA about three years ago. She is our little princess. She loves the kids and my kids love her. She spends her days lounging on the couch or beside me while I work. She loves sunbathing, going on walks, and snuggling up with her brother who is a retriever mix.”

Sammy & Bean
“We foster failed / adopted Sammy (head tilted) and Bean (front) more than 5 years ago, and we can’t imagine life without them!”
— Beth Phillips

Huet Lewis & Lentil
“I adopted Huey Lewis in 2019. He loves to watch TV and of course eat and bark. He is the fawn on the left. The sweet black pug on the right is Lentil. I adopted him in 2022. He loves to take walks more than anything and he is perfect.”
— Monti Perkins

Tiki
“I adopted Tiki from PRA in October 2014, almost two years after starting college. She was 4½ at the time and everything I dreamed of in a pug. I had saved up the $350 adoption fee myself, determined to adopt. I knew the moment I saw her picture—she was the one.
Nearly 11 years later, Tiki is turning 16 this December. She’s been with me through study sessions, road trips, sick days, and even met my spouse (who knew we were a package deal!). When she had vertigo, I hand-fed her every meal and slept on the couch to keep her upright. She’s mellow now, enjoying her senior years with cozy naps, patio lounging, shared strawberries and yogurt in the summer, and the occasional scoop of vanilla ice cream.
I’m forever grateful to PRA. Without them, I would’ve never met my little pug soulmate.”
— Jessica Foster

Austin & Savannah
“We adopted Austin (on the left) when my daughter—pictured—was just 2 years old. He’s been our fearless protector and constant shadow for almost 9 years. His sister Savannah, also a PRA alum, joined us 3 years ago. We can’t imagine life without them.”
— Amanda Green

Winnie
“I fostered Winnie in 2020, never having had a pet as an adult. After 9 months of getting her healthy, PRA reached out to list her for adoption—only I’d already fallen hard. I foster-failed gloriously. We go to all sorts of pug events together now. PRA changed both our lives for the better.”
— Brent Shriver

Buster & Jiggy
“Meet Buster (the black pug) and Jiggy—both foster fails! We adopted Buster 7 years ago when he was 7, and Jiggy 5 years ago at age 9. They’ve been part of the family ever since.”
— Nara Goldman Dedrick
