Hi there, I am Mercury, a nine year old girl with the heart and energy of a much younger pup. I have been told I am a very good house guest because I have not had a single accident in my foster home. I settled right in and made myself comfortable. I get along great with my foster family’s pug. We do not play much, but we love to cuddle, and I enjoy having another dog around. I have not met any cats yet, so no one is quite sure how I would feel about them. I would probably do best with kids eight and up because I can be a little bouncy when I get excited.
I have been working hard on my manners and I am proud of how much I have learned. I know sit and down, and I wait politely for the okay command before I eat my meals. I also know touch. I love toys, my blanket, running around the house, and doing little spins in the air while my food is being prepared. My tail has a mind of its own and when it starts wagging, my whole back end wiggles along with it. When my foster parents come home, I get so happy that I dig at my blanket like I am trying to make the perfect welcome home nest.
I enjoy going for car rides and sniffing all the interesting smells as we drive. Walks are fun too, especially when both of my foster parents come along. I think I just like knowing that my people are together. I am still learning not to bark at the doorbell, but I have already figured out that I am supposed to come sit at my foster mom’s feet afterward. With a little more time and consistency, I know I will get the rest of it down.
I am a sweet, smart, eager to please girl who is ready for a family of my own. I have so much love to give and I cannot wait to find the people who will love me right back.
