Hi, I'm Zach!
If you're looking for a sweet, smart, affectionate companion, I might be your perfect match. I love to snuggle, play with soft toys and balls, soak up the sunshine, and spend time with my people. I'm eager to please, love learning new things, and already know how to sit and stay.
I'm doing great with potty training and have excellent crate manners. I sleep quietly in my crate at night, stay in it when my foster family is away, and will even go in on my own when I want to relax.
I also get along well with the other dogs in my foster home and live respectfully with cats. I'm occasionally curious about them, but I listen to their cues and give them space when they've had enough.
When I first came to rescue, I needed extensive treatment for heartworms, including surgery to remove them. Because of that, I've had to spend much longer in foster care than most dogs. The good news is that I've completed treatment, I'm feeling great, and I'm finally ready to find my forever family!
My foster family says I've made incredible progress learning what it means to be a beloved family member. I'm incredibly smart, very trainable, and always trying my best. With a little continued guidance and lots of love, I'm going to make a wonderful companion.
