Zach
Hi, I’m Zack — and I’m learning how to be an indoor dog and a loved family member for the very first time.
I spent most of my early life outside, so everything about living in a home is new to me. I’m working hard on potty training, manners, and figuring out how to be part of a family. I’m also going through heartworm treatment right now. It’s a big, slow process, and I have to rest more than I want to, but everyone keeps telling me it’s how I’ll get healthy and have the long, happy life I deserve. I should be ready for adoption around March, once my vet clears me and I can be neutered.
I’m a playful, energetic guy who loves being outdoors and soaking up the sun. I enjoy other dogs and might do great with a buddy who can help me learn the ropes. I’m still learning my house manners and will likely benefit from continued structure and training in my new home. While I’m still figuring everything out, I’d probably do best in a home with adults or older children.
I’m getting better with cats, too. I get excited sometimes, but I’m learning to listen when they tell me to back off.
Even though I’m new to all of this, I have a really soft, sweet side. I love to be held and will snuggle for as long as you’ll let me. I’m trying my best every day, and with patience, love, and a little time to finish my treatment, I know I’m going to make an amazing companion for someone soon.
