Toyota’s Emergency Delivery

Toyota

Toyota went into labor on February 15 and delivered her first puppy, Tacoma. When her labor suddenly stopped and she and her remaining puppies were in distress, emergency intervention became necessary.

Her owner could not afford an emergency C‑section, so they made the difficult decision to surrender her, and we immediately responded to make sure Toyota received the lifesaving care she and her puppies needed.

She was rushed to Central Texas Emergency & Specialty in Round Rock, where two more puppies, Rav and Corolla, were delivered by emergency C‑section.

Despite our best efforts, little Corolla did not make it. Losing him was heartbreaking and a reminder of how fragile these moments are and how urgently pugs need access to emergency care.

Update March 4, 2026: Today, two weeks later, Toyota and her two healthy boys, Tacoma and Rav, are safe, warm, and thriving with one of our experienced newborn foster homes. Toyota is a very young mom, and it took her a few days to learn how to nurse and care for her pups, but she did it. She is fighting for her babies, and she got that chance because of our rescue and our community.

For Toyota’s C‑section and follow‑up care, our rescue has already invested around $4,000, with many more vet visits to come. Every pug we take in is fully vaccinated, spayed or neutered, and given the medical care they need before adoption.
