Is there a minimum age to adopt through PRA?
Becoming a pet owner involves an ongoing commitment (in some cases over 15 years or more) to provide quality nutrition, health care and a great deal of love and patience.
It has been our experience that before the age of 21, most people are not equipped to make such a commitment primarily because they are not financially stable. This is an important point to consider, because if a person is not financially stable, the entire health and well-being of the pet will be at risk.
Applicants must demonstrate emotional maturity, financial independence, stability, and prior experience caring for a dog.
