Hello! I’m Zia, a loving three-year-old lady looking for a loving and trusting home. I’m initially a little cautious around new faces and other animals, but I blossom into a loving and cuddly companion once trust has been established. I may need my new family to be a bit patient as I open up, but I’m worth the wait. Once I feel comfortable with you, I’ll be excited for some of my favorite things - belly rubs, car rides, hikes, and walks.

When it comes to food, I will not need time to warm up! I have the typical pug appetite, and my foster parents have been able to leverage that into teaching me a lot of tricks. I am able to follow commands like “sit” and “watch,” and I look forward to learning even more (as long as delicious treats are involved).

I’ve mastered crate and pad training. I’m still fine-tuning my house training skills, although I’m getting better at signaling when I need to go out. One area I will not compromise on is my aversion to dog beds. I prefer the comfort of couches and human beds, and even in my crate, I prefer to lay on blankets over dog beds.

I am heartworm positive, but PRA will provide all the treatment I need to be ready to join your family.
