Velvet came to me as a foster pup but we fell in love with her right away!!!! When she arrived at our place, she was in rough shape (just been spayed the day before, underweight, extremely dirty with tar all over, an arched back and frightened). She saw Signe the next day and I was told she has injuries possibly due to a car accident. Velvet’s back was broken and she had missing teeth and a huge mouth infection and was heartworm positive. Signe was surprised she could even walk!!! I took her home with meds and as the days and weeks went on we saw a completely different dog. At first she would tend to want to be by herself, choosing to sleep or spend time alone in the crate. As she became familiar with her foster family, Velvet wanted to spend more and more time with us. Just loved being snuggled, petted and going out for walks. She was a great eater and put on weight right away. She started showing her playful side and enjoyed playing with all of her foster brother’s toys and bones. She is one tough puggle, even with a permanent broken back she gets around just fine, does need help with stairs and getting on and off of furniture!!!! After I saw how happy and well she was doing with us there was no way I could let her leave. Velvet is a part of our family and we could not be happier!!!!
