I am so very happy to write to you today about our lovable girl Summer. My wife Terrie and I were asked to foster Summer last August as her family was forced to surrender her due to their personal situation. When I picked her up, she was severely overweight and clearly hadn’t been well-kept. She looked as if she hadn’t been brushed in ages and bumbled around our house, knocking over her water bowl more than once. But, most importantly, she instantly got along with our other little pug Roxy and they became fast friends.
Over the next few weeks, we whipped her into shape with 2-3 walks/day and she quickly lost 5lbs. She began to grow on us as she was constantly smiling and always in a good mood. After about 3 weeks, we were told someone was interested in meeting her, but we couldn’t bear the thought of letting her go. She had stolen our hearts and although we had come to Pug Rescue looking for a younger brother for Roxy, we adopted Summer as her new big sister!
She and Roxy spend their days snuggling next to one another in their beds, racing each other on our walks, and playing detective in just about every yard along the way. I swear we do more sniffing than walking some days and I’ve taken to calling them Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson now! We’ve had some scary moments with her in regards to some health issues, but they are well resolved now and she is doing fantastic!
We are so happy that we found Summer and are friends and supporters of PRA for life!
Thanks so much!
Tim, Terrie, Roxy, and Summer Meyer
