Rainbow Bridge – Dizzy
It all started back in February when Midas was first rescued by Pug Rescue of Austin. I saw a Facebook post saying that he could use some goodies, and as soon as I saw his picture I fell in love. I contacted and asked if there was anything I could bring him since I was in the area. Signe [Pug Rescue of Austin Medical Coordinator] let me know what he was able to have as treats and I came to Westlake Animal Hospital within the next few days to bring them to him.
As soon as I met Midas I fell in love! Signe was so kind and let me ask all sorts of questions, including “When is he available to be adopted?!” I took tons of pictures and videos to show my husband later. From that day I knew we were supposed to have this sweet boy. He still had a lot of healing ahead of him, but I knew I couldn’t miss the opportunity to adopt him as soon as we could. We filled out the application and trusted that if we were supposed to have him as ours, the door would be opened and it would be super clear!
Towards the end of March, Midas was medically cleared for adoption and released to his wonderful foster family of Andrea and John. During this time, we were also approved by the rescue to adopt a sweet puggie! Andrea was so wonderful and immediately got in touch with me to answer all questions, send me pictures of him, etc. We met up with her in the beginning of April so my husband and our black lab, Kenzie could meet him, and that was it!
A week later we got him from Andrea and John for the “trial visit” and just fell even more in love with him. We filled out our adoption contract after the week passed and he was officially ours!! 🙂
Midas, now “Butch/Butchy Boy,” is such an answer to prayer for us and has been the perfect addition to our family. Thank you SO much to Pug Rescue of Austin and everyone involved for taking care of this sweet boy and loving him so well. We are so grateful for him.
